About Myrtle Creek Vineyards

Myrtle Creek Vineyards is a boutique winery making quality, hand-crafted wines in small batches. Founded by Matt Sherman and his father, the first vines were planted by the family in August of 2011 on the grounds of the old family orchards, and the first wines were made in Matt’s garage in 2011. The vintage was coined Syrage – Syrah made in the garage! And from there it was history. The tasting room was opened in September of 2017.

Our founder, Matt Sherman, put his heart and soul into Myrtle Creek Vineyards. Despite battling cancer, his spirit never wavered. He was all about enjoying the moment – making great wines, listening to good music, and sharing that energy with guests. That joy and passion of his can be felt everywhere at the winery, from the way the vines are tended to the wine in your glass.

At Myrtle Creek, it’s not just about making fantastic wines, it’s about creating a place where anyone can come and enjoy the moment. Since Matt’s passing in March 2023, Audrey Sherman, his wife, has continued to operate the business. Audrey wants to make sure every guest experiences the happiness that fills her when she is among the vines, in the cellar, or enjoying a glass of wine. The community here means the world to her, and she keen on keeping that connection strong, just like Matt would have wanted. It’s a special place, Myrtle Creek, where the doors are open, the bottles are ready, and the hearts are full.

Who We Are

Matt & Audrey, Owners and Winemakers

Matt is our winemaker, and his wife, Audrey, is a CPA who is great at making sure the business side of things are under control. Sometimes it’s hard to keep a crazy winemaker in check! Matt and Audrey met at Cal Poly when they were 20 years old and have been together ever since.

Bruce, Matt’s Father

Bruce loves working out in the vineyards. He enjoys spending time pruning and tending to the vines. He’s also a great help at harvest and contributes time in the cellar as well.

The Boys, Zane and Wade

The Boys will do anything that involves driving the tractor. Zane enjoys picking, but Wade, not so much! They both love helping their dad in the cellar and he loves to have them around.
